APRIL 8 Fundraiser for Courage Is Change: A Gathering of Healing Energy, presented by The Aspen Program for Psychic Development

Courage is Change is awarded the One Lafayette Grant again this year!

One Lafayette Grants $41,950 to Local Nonprofits

"One Lafayette" Grant Program. This program is financed primarily through the City's general fund but also included donations from the Lafayette community. The awards fell into two categories; Special Programs and Essential Community Resources.

The following organizations were awarded Essential Community Resources funds:

Sister Carmen, Meals on Wheels, Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Non-Violence, Clinica Campesina, Saint Benedict Health and Healing Ministry, Flatirons Habitat for Humanity, Voices forChildren, Immigrant Legal Center of Boulder County, and Rocky Mountain Legal Center.

Special Project Grants were awarded to:

WOW! Children's Museum, the I-Have-A-Dream Foundation, Bobcat Football, Centaurus Band Boosters, Community Action Development Corp., Courage is Change, Project YES, Audio Information Network, Peanut Butter Players, the Rocky Mountain Center for Musical Arts and Imagine.

One Lafayette's mission is to assist local non-profits in the work they selflessly perform in Lafayette, enabling our community to be a better place to live.

Pam Spring, Human Resources Director and staff liaison for the program, had this to say about One Lafayette "This is a great thing that the City does for the nonprofit organizations in our community; they deserve our support. We are building a community with heart. "

Courage is Change is proud to announce its new partnership with GlobeMed at CU-Boulder
GlobeMed, a student run non-profit organization with chapters across the country, focuses on improving global health equity by partnering with grass-roots NGO's (non-governmental organizations) around the world. GlobeMed at CU-Boulder recognizes that health equity and social justice are not only concerns for developing countries, but are a real issue here in Boulder, Colorado too. Through this partnership with Courage is Change, GlobeMed hopes to spread the word about domestic and dating violence throughout the Boulder community and provide an outlet for victims to seek help. Not only taking measures to rehabilitate women, Courage is Change is responsible for initiating the "It Stops with Me" Campaign in which men and women take a pledge to never engage in any sort of domestic or dating violence. MAMMOTH ANNOUNCES SUPPORT OF ‘IT STOPS WITH ME’ CAMPAIGN TO END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

COURAGE IS CHANGE is Featured Non-Profit
For The FAC (Friday Afternoon Club) concert series beginning at 5:30 pm in the gardens at the Millennium Harvest House Boulder, Courage is Change was the featured non-profit that evening.

We listened to the sounds of Rebecca Folsom. Rebecca and her band offer a rich palette of covers and originals, which can be specially chosen and mixed for the unique needs and tastes of any occasion, from the most elegant and sophisticated to the most casual or funky.

Grant from Walmart
On November 20, 2010 Courage Is Change received a generous grant of $500 from WalMart.

City of Boulder Grant
The Red Tent Clubs are funded in part by a grant for the 2010-11 school year from the City of Boulder's Youth Opportunities Program, supporting the clubs in Boulder, CO.

More than $41,000 will be distributed to area nonprofit organizations this year via the One Lafayette grant program. The recipients of this year's grants were announced during the Oct. 5 City Council meeting. More Info

Grants for Courage is Change
Courage is Change received a special grant of $500 from the Louisville Library Summer Reading Program, as well as a $1,500 grant through the generosity of Kenneth and Diane Kahn, offered through the CU fund for Arts and Sciences Community Involvement (ASCI).
